₹27.34 Crore Sanctioned for Sewerage System; Tender Already Floated

Gurdaspur, April 2 — In a major development for the residents of village Tibber, AAP Gurdaspur constituency in-charge Raman Bahl has secured a sanction of ₹27 crore 34 lakh for a comprehensive sewerage and water supply project — fulfilling a demand that the village had been raising for decades.
The tender for the project has already been floated, and work is set to begin shortly.
Speaking at a gathering held in the village on Thursday, Bahl said that today marks a historic day for Tibber. He shared that his family has long had a deep bond with the village. His late father, Sh. Khushal Bahl, was among the first to work for Tibber’s development — constructing the community hall, getting roads built, and laying the village’s first sewer line along its main street back in 2004. “Today, with God’s grace, we have been able to take that work to its completion,” he said.
Bahl informed that he had personally met Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and held discussions with AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal to push the project through. He expressed gratitude to both leaders for their support.
What the Project Covers
The ₹27.34 crore project includes the following:
- 19 kilometres of sewerage pipes across the village
- A 1.50 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant
- Replacement of 11 kilometres of existing water supply pipeline
- New water connections for 1,045 households
- The contractor is bound to maintain the system for five years after completion
Bahl noted that prior to AAP coming to power in 2022, successive governments had failed to address Tibber’s drainage problem despite repeated appeals. “The people of this village were left to live in difficult conditions for generations. Their voice has now been heard,” he said.
Villagers celebrated the announcement with firecrackers and expressed heartfelt gratitude to Bahl for delivering on a promise that many had stopped expecting to see fulfilled in their lifetime.
Senior AAP leader and former sarpanch Manmohan, along with other party functionaries, praised Bahl for his consistent and transparent approach to constituency development.
Among those present were Chairman Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Honey Bahl, Ajay Bahl, Senior Leader Neeraj Salhotra, Zila Parishad Member Sucha Singh Multani, Block Samiti Chairman Ranjit Singh Rana Babbri, Block Samiti Vice Chairman Smt. Lakhwinder Kaur Roranwali, Panchayat Samiti Member Kiran Bala, and a large number of villagers.
