Pakistani Numbers Found on Mobile Devices; Booked Under the Official Secrets Act, 1923
Gurdaspur, May 15, 2025 (The Punjab Wire) – Amid heightened Indo-Pak tensions resembling a war-like scenario, two migrant youths were apprehended by Military Intelligence while filming and photographing sensitive military movement near the Tibri military cantonment in Gurdaspur.
The incident took place on May 9, during a period of extreme alert along the international border. The suspects were later handed over to Purana Shala Police Station, where a case was registered against them under serious charges related to national security.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Fayaz Hussain, son of Sajid Sah, and Bablu, son of Badlu Sah, both residents of village Zafarpur, Mirganj, District Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.
As per information received, the two had been posing as coconut vendors near the cantonment area in the Nawan Shala region. Military Intelligence caught them while recording army movements and clicking photographs. Upon seizing and examining their mobile phones, officials discovered videos of military convoys as well as several Pakistani contact numbers.
Following this, the suspects were handed over to the local police. On May 9, 2025, a case was officially registered at Purana Shala Police Station under Sections 3 and 4 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923. After judicial proceedings, both individuals were remanded to Central Jail.
